# The employee app

> What the employee app is for, where to find it, and what each of its five tabs does.

The employee app is where people do the things only they can do: clock in, check their own record, ask for time off, and read their pay.

## Where it is

```text theme={null}
https://app.ontime.hosai.app/employee
```

Open it in your phone's browser and sign in with your OnTime email and password — the same credentials as any other OnTime surface. There is no separate employee login.

<Tip>
  Add it to your home screen. It is built mobile-first and behaves like an installed app once it is there. On iOS use **Share → Add to Home Screen**; on Android, **⋮ → Add to Home screen**.
</Tip>

## The five tabs

<CardGroup cols={2}>
  <Card title="Today" icon="clock" href="/help/employee-app/punch-and-today">
    Am I clocked in? Punch in and out, and see today's timeline and hours.
  </Card>

  <Card title="History" icon="calendar" href="/help/employee-app/history">
    Your month calendar, and the detail of any past day.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Leave" icon="palmtree" href="/help/employee-app/leave">
    Balances, applying, and tracking a request through approval.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Pay" icon="receipt" href="/help/employee-app/pay">
    Year-to-date, payslips, and tax documents.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Me" icon="user" href="/help/employee-app/profile">
    Your profile, your sessions, and the devices enrolled to you.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

## The notification bell

Present throughout the app. It carries an unread count and opens a feed grouped into Today and Earlier — approval decisions, new messages, payslip publication, Form 16 availability.

<Note>
  Notifications are **in-app only**. There is no email, SMS or push delivery, so the app is where you find out.
</Note>

## Managers use this too

A manager is also an employee. The manager app's **Me** tab is this same self-service — a manager's own punches, leave and payslips live here, and their own leave request goes to *their* manager.

## What you cannot do here

The employee app is deliberately narrow. You cannot see other people's attendance, approve anything, or change your own attendance record. Corrections go through a [regularization](/help/attendance/regularization) — a request somebody else approves.
