The status card

The top of the screen shows whether you are currently checked in, how long you have been in, and where you punched from. Below it is your assigned shift for the day, so you can see what you are being measured against.

Punching

The button reads Punch in or Punch out depending on your state. Depending on your organization’s configuration, pressing it asks for:

A selfie

The camera opens and captures a single frame. This is what ties the punch to a person rather than a login.
The photo is stored with the punch as evidence and is visible to your administrator. OnTime does not run face matching or liveness detection on it.

Your location

A map shows your position against your work location’s geofence ring, with a live pin, and tells you the result before you confirm.

Confirmation

The punch is recorded and today’s timeline updates immediately.

What blocks or flags a punch

You are not blocked, but you must pick a reason from the list your administrator configured, and the punch is recorded as pending until your manager approves it. You can attach an extra photo as proof.This is the normal path for client visits and field work — it is an exception, not an error.
If your device cannot get a fix — indoors, or permission denied — the app says so plainly rather than guessing. You can still punch.
Pressing the same direction twice within a minute is refused. Check whether your first press registered before pressing again.
The date belongs to a payroll month that has been frozen. Nobody can add a punch to it. Speak to whoever runs payroll.

Mini-stats

Three figures across the top of the screen, all live: Shortcuts straight into the things people most often need next: Apply leave, Request regularization, and your latest payslip. When you are checked in, a heads-up row surfaces your most recent unread notification, so an approval decision does not wait for you to open the bell.
